The cakes were mom's special amaretto, (atriple layer at that!) Mitchell's chocolate death; carrot cake a la Gary's recipe; and Jan's chocolate cherry: two layers of hazelnut dacquoise, with kirsch soaked genoise, chocolate buttercream icing, and almond decorations.
We lit six dozen floating candles, and the stock tank looked so beautiful! We'll never forget that gorgeous sight as we drove away and looked back at that magical pond.
Even the wind cooperated and let them drift gently near the shore.
